I was adopted as a baby. I am the 3rd child in a family of four. My two older siblings are also adopted. As a child, I always asked questions about where I came from. My ever supportive parents, gave me what little information they had. If it were not for my sister's persistant search for her own roots, I would not have made contact with a very important person in my life; my mother. Not only did my experience, but also my sister's continued search, give me inspiration. I am all to aware there is a need for more forums and access to information, for anyone searching for family.

I made the agonising decision to give up my baby daughter for adoption. For many years I wanted to know that my child was in a loving family and cared for. I knew, deep in my heart, that I would one day be reunited with my daughter and have the opportunity to explain to her the reasons for my decision. Not only have we been reunited but we have established a relationship. I am eternally grateful to my daughter's parents. They have been very supportive during this process.

Searched for and found the biological mother of a friend and is available to offer practical advice and assistance with your search. This is done on a part-time basis.

We do not promise miracles

While the outcome of our reunion was happy,

we know that it might not always be so for others.

Our own search has made us aware of the need for a South African website.
